Precisely Printed
Every Staray shoe is built from a single flexible polymer—printed, not assembled.
The Material
Flexible Polymer
Staray uses a high-performance flexible polymer—a material engineered for resilience, elasticity, and low weight. It bends with the foot, recovers its form under repeated load, and holds its structure over time.
Unlike traditional shoe materials, it requires no coating, no lining, and no reinforcement. The material is the shoe.
- Material Type Flexible Polymer (TPU-based)

Material Properties
Lightweight
Lower mass per unit volume than conventional sole and upper materials. The lattice removes material where it isn't needed.
Breathable
An open lattice geometry ensures constant airflow around the foot. Breathability is structural—not achieved through perforation or membrane.
Resilient
Elasticity matched to natural foot movement. The polymer returns to form under repeated compression—no degradation over time.
Durable
Resistant to wear, abrasion, and repeated flex without structural fatigue. No bonded joints to fail.
Recyclable
Flexible polymer can be recovered and reprocessed at end of product life. No mixed material compounds to separate.
Construction
Built as One
Traditional footwear relies on adhesives to bond upper to sole, lining to shell, component to component. Every bonded joint is a potential failure point—a seam that can separate, a layer that can peel.
Staray shoes are printed as a continuous structure. No seams. No glue. No delamination. What you wear is exactly what was designed—nothing added, nothing that can come apart.
Less Waste by Design
3D printing uses only the material required for each shoe. No offcuts. No excess. No leftover stock.
On-Demand Production
Each shoe is printed to order. No overproduction. No warehouse of unsold units.
Material Precision
Additive manufacturing deposits material only where it's needed. Conventional manufacturing cuts away excess.
Full Recyclability
A single material with no adhesives means clean recovery at end of life. No sorting. No separation.
